Once we hear from God, obedience is what turns hearing into action. In this step from Wilderness to Wisdom, we look at what obedience actually is and why so many of us confuse it with performance.
We’re not obeying God to earn His love or His blessings. Because of Jesus, we already have them. Faith rests. Performance strives. Obedience isn’t rigid rule-keeping. It’s the byproduct of belief, because our actions always follow what we truly believe. Disobedience is usually unbelief in disguise. When we understand who God is and who we are in Christ, obedience stops feeling like pressure and starts feeling like freedom.
We also look at the barriers: fear, ego, and control. And how “God knows my heart” often becomes the warm cozy blanket we use to avoid what He’s already told us to do.
Obedience flows from relationship, not religion.
